AMTS 2026 Preview: Embodied AI, The New Force Driving New Flexibility and Efficiency in Automotive Manufacturing

2026-06-13

The automotive industry is entering a new wave of growth, and behind this trillion-level market lies a rapidly rising demand for flexible production. As competition intensifies and consumers increasingly expect personalized and customized vehicle models, automakers are accelerating product iteration to capture market opportunities. Traditional rigid production lines, warehousing and logistics models are becoming less capable of responding to such changes, making flexible production a core requirement for future automotive manufacturing.

Industrial embodied AI is opening new possibilities for this challenge. As global technology development drives embodied intelligence from concept to real-world application, automotive system integrators are expanding from the deep application of AI foundation models into the field of embodied AI. By integrating embodied intelligence into vehicle design, production and quality control, the industry is moving toward more efficient, precise and intelligent manufacturing upgrades, reshaping the automotive manufacturing paradigm.

In this AMTS 2026 preview, leading companies including DUCO, DexForce, Micro-Intelligence, Dalian Haosen and Moses will present embodied AI solutions for automotive manufacturing. Meanwhile, the 2026 Embodied AI Design, Manufacturing and Industrial Application Development Forum – Session on Embodied AI Applications in Automotive Engineering will bring together end users from the automotive industry, non-standard automation equipment integrators, high-end intelligent equipment and supporting suppliers, embodied AI robotics companies, robot body and component suppliers, warehousing and logistics equipment providers and integrators, and industrial software companies. The forum will focus on key challenges in embodied AI manufacturing and engineering applications, accelerating technology implementation and industrial collaboration.

DUCO ROBOTS CO., Ltd.

Booth Number: W3-E01

The DUCO Embodied AI Robot is built on SIASUN’s strong foundation in technology R&D. By combining advanced motion control and servo algorithms with high-precision sensor fusion, the robot is able to perform accurate operations in complex environments.

In industrial sectors such as automotive, new energy, 3C electronics and semiconductors, large-scale rigid automation has already become mature. However, production line changeovers, small-batch customization, complex material handling and precision processes requiring close human–machine collaboration remain challenging areas for automation.

The DUCO Embodied AI Robot is designed to address key pain points that traditional automation solutions often struggle to cover, particularly flexible collaborative production and cost-effective deployment in industrial and commercial scenarios. It can support intelligent sorting, loading and unloading of materials beside production lines, and is especially suited for flexible transfer of non-standard parts and cross-line materials. The robot aims to serve as a “connector” that enhances both production flexibility and operational efficiency.

Industrial Embodied AI Inspection and Repair Robot

The Industrial Embodied AI Inspection and Repair Robot from VEICHI Intelligent Manufacturing is equipped with an AI-powered intelligent control center and a 6D pose motion planning algorithm. It supports ultra-high-speed image capture at 1,000 mm/s, enabling high-precision, full-area recognition of defects such as burrs, cracks and oil stains on die-cast parts.

Built on a self-developed algorithm framework and Data2Model toolset, the robot helps accumulate process data as digital assets. Even with small-sample data, it can achieve zero-missed defect detection, intelligent recognition and autonomous defect grading, reducing scrap and material waste.

The system can accurately convert pixel coordinates into 6D spatial coordinates and coordinate with the grinding head to complete flexible grinding and re-inspection autonomously, forming a closed loop from inspection to repair. With physical-level intranet isolation and permission control, it also helps protect core data security, empowering high-end automotive manufacturing through China-developed embodied AI technologies.

Application of Embodied Intelligence in Industrial Scenarios — Automated Battery Cell Loading Solution

To address the flexibility requirements of production lines driven by technological iterations in new energy batteries, we have developed a human-robot collaborative wheeled humanoid robot automatic loading system that solves the loading challenges of mixed-model production lines.

In this solution, the robot uses a wheeled platform equipped with SLAM navigation, combined with a dual-vision system consisting of a global camera on the head and local cameras on the hands, to achieve full-process guidance — from recognizing incoming battery cell trays to locating target cells. This significantly improves grasping accuracy and adaptability.

For the gripper design, a six-dimensional force-controlled end-effector is adopted to enable closed-loop, precision control of gripping force. Coupled with an innovative inverted tooth-shaped contact material, it effectively prevents cells from slipping or falling, ensuring product safety.
In terms of workstation-level human-robot collaboration, real-time monitoring via security cameras installed above the working area establishes a safety protection system for human-robot collaboration. This enables safe and efficient mixed-operation between humans and robots, driving the flexible and intelligent upgrading of battery production lines.

Embodied AI Chain

The company has developed two product lines under its Cybertron Series: wheeled dual-arm embodied robots and humanoid legged robots. Small-batch production and delivery officially started in May 2026.

Both products are natively equipped with binocular RGB-D vision, wrist cameras, six-axis force sensors and a self-developed VLA large-model inference system. They support long-duration standby and operation, and can be directly connected to customers’ existing MES systems without the need to modify original workstations. The robots can also significantly reduce the need for various terminal devices and data acquisition tools previously required in production scenarios, including POS terminals, barcode scanners and assistive arms.

The two product lines have now entered the mass production and delivery stage.

Wheeled Dual-arm Embodied Robot — Cybertron Series

The Cybertron Series Wheeled Embodied Robot is designed for collaborative production line scenarios. It offers a 6 kg payload per arm, supports fast automatic tool changing, and has a total vehicle payload of 150 kg. The robot delivers repeat positioning accuracy of ± 0.1 mm and can operate for 10–12 hours on a single charge.

Humanoid Legged Robot

The Humanoid Legged Robot is designed for complex spaces and multi-process industrial scenarios. With dual-battery hot swapping, it supports 24/7 continuous operation. The robot has a payload capacity of 50 kg and can be applied to compound tasks such as precision assembly, quality inspection and material handling.
